Councillors' Survey (2002-2006) |

Between 2006 and 2007, we used the RTI Act to obtain information on how the 227 Councillors in Mumbai city had used the discretionary fund of Rs.10 lakh allotted to each one of them during their official term of 2002-2006. The projects implemented with this fund were matched with the actual infrastructure requirements of each ward.
This information was compiled prior to the municipal elections in order to inform the electorate about the work done by the Councillors during their term. This would help people to choose their Councillors carefully in the 2007 council elections.
